15th World Scout Moot – Iceland

The 15th World Scout Moot was held in Iceland for 10 days between the 25th July and the 2nd August 2017. BSO had 4 members attend the moot, 3 as participants (18 to 25 years old) and 1 as International Service Team (IST – 25+ years old). World Scout Moots are official events of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and the 15th World Scout Moot was hosted and organised by the Icelandic Boy and Girl Scout Association.


Members of BSO attended as part of the UK Contingent. The UK Contingent was the largest contingent ever at a World Scout Moot, with around 200 IST and 600 participants, and consisted of members in counties, regions and areas across the UK Scout Association.

These roles would suit people who enjoy practical digital projects, can work collaboratively with others, and want to use their skills to support Scouting across the globe.

About the role We are looking to appoint 2 volunteers to develop and support the International Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme across British Scouting Overseas, as part of the Programme Team. The roles will focus on supporting our Award Centres and those engaged in delivering the Award programme.
