Congratulations to John May– Commander of the Royal Victorian Order!

We are delighted to celebrate John May’s recognition in HM The King’s New Year Honours. This award is a testament to his lifelong commitment to making a difference and being in service to others.

John has left an indelible mark on the Scouting movement through his incredible leadership as the current President on British Scouting Overseas, former Vice-Chair of World Organization of the Scout Movement - WOSMCommittee and former International Commissioner of The Scouts.

Thank you, John, for your unwavering passion and service. Your impact will be felt for generations to come!

The 26th World Scout Jamboree will take place in Gdansk, Poland in the summer of 2027. The UK Scout Association has a long history of sending large number of Units (36 young people, aged between 14 and 18, and four leaders divided into four patrols) as part of a UK Contingent to attend World Scout Jamborees. The units represent each of the UK’s counties and countries/regions, with unit numbers be allocated based on the numbers of young people in each area.
