New Area Scout Network Commissioner

We’re extremely pleased to announce that we have appointed Gillian Dick as British Scouting Overseas, new Area Scout Network Commissioner. Gillian is based in Glasgow and has a vast wealth of experience volunteering with the Guiding movement, including taking Guides on adventures outside the UK!


More recently however she has been an Occasional Helper with a Scout group in Glasgow, as well as being a member of the UK Contingent Support Team, helping all of the Scouts and Guides from the UK attending the World Scout Jamboree in the USA.



Gillian will be focussed on getting our Network Section enthused and supported to be able to take part in activities and be able to achieve the higher awards!

Vacancy: BSO Heritage Team (Technical Specialist)

About the role We’re looking for someone with technical skills to support our project to preserve British Scouting Overseas ( and its predecessors) History, so that the content we collect and curate can be online and accessible with the minimal need for updating and software upgrades. Ideally you will have skills and knowledge in creating websites for historical content, creating secure websites and able to work with none tecnical colleagues to put these concepts across.

The team will focus on design and management of the BSO website as we look to relaunch our website over the next few months as a valuable resource tool for our members and for those wanting to join British Scouting Overseas.
