We’re looking for a volunteer to lead and develop the Young Leader Scheme across British Scouting Overseas.
The role will focus on supporting our Young Leaders and those engaged in delivering the Young Leader programme, including delivery of YL Training Modules.

Key tasks
We’re looking for a volunteer to develop and support the Young Leader Scheme across British Scouting Overseas.
The role will focus on supporting our Young Leaders and those engaged in delivering the Young Leader programme, including delivery of YL Training Modules.
Key Tasks:
- Delivery of Module A at BSO Area Level (online learning)
- Programme for Train the trainer across BSO Districts, to enable Districts to deliver Young Leader Training.
- To deliver Young Leader training weekends in partnership with Districts across BSO
- Deliver the Young Leader Award in BSO as part of our objective of increasing Top Award attainment.
- Build a Young Leader Team to deliver on our objectives.

Responsible for: BSO Young Leader Team
Knowledge & experience
- Understanding of the Scout Association
- A working knowledge of the Young Leader Scheme
- Experience of planning and running training courses
- Experience of Scouts or another youth organisation (Desirable)
- Knowledge of BSO (Desirable)
Skills & abilities
- Good IT skills as most learning will be done online
- Good Communication skills
- Ability to create engaging training resources
- Organised
- Able to work independently and as part of a wider team
Personal Qualities
- Enthusiastic & Passionate about Training
- Creative
- A good listener & approachable
- Committed to Scouts Values, inclusivity, & International engagement
- Maturity to respond to questions and challenges
