Could you show your stripes and be a World Scout Jamboree Unit Leader?
We’re so excited that BSO has been allocated three patrols (with a fourth Patrol from British Guiding Overseas to make up one unit) to become part of the UK Contingent going to the 25 World Scout Jamboree in Korea during 2023; with the very exciting news that the allocated unit number is Unit 1!
This means we need to recruit three adult volunteers to become the Unit Leadership Team who make sure that our twenty seven young people will be empowered to be bold and brave to make the most of the life shaping experience the World Scout Jamboree will provide.
We’re supporting the UK Contingent’s vision to be the most inclusive UK Contingent to attend a World Scout Jamboree. There should be no unnecessary barriers to anyone becoming part of our Unit Leadership Team.
- Never been to a Jamboree before? – that’s OK!
- Not an Explorer Scout Leader? – absolutely no problem
- Never been to SE Asia? – step forward tiger!
The UK Contingent is not shying away from challenging the perceptions of who an adult jamboree volunteer is, so if you’re prepared to Think big. Dream wild and Act together why not leap at the opportunity to apply to join our team?
These are adult roles so Unit Leaders and Assistant Leaders should be at least 18 years old by 1st January 2022.
Applications are open until 8th August 2021 for candidates interested in these roles:
- Unit Leader (closed)
- Assistant Unit Leader (closed)
We are requiring both written and video applications, as well as two photos of Scouting events that you have been involved with and clearly illustrate a strength you would bring to the Unit team.
Please download and complete the Application form (closed) and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org by Noon (UK time) 8th August 2021
