Guidance for our Volunteers

September 9, 2022

As we mourn the loss of our Patron, HM The Queen, we're aware that volunteers may have questions, the resources below will help you during this time

As HM The Queen was the patron of Scouts, we’re deeply saddened and share our condolences at the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts are with the Royal Family at this sad time. Throughout her reign, she was an avid supporter of Scouts in the United Kingdom, across The Commonwealth and around the world.

Therefore, we know many of you will want to mark this moment. We’d like to help you do that in a way that’s as respectful and meaningful as possible.

The 26th World Scout Jamboree will take place in Gdansk, Poland in the summer of 2027. The UK Scout Association has a long history of sending large number of Units (36 young people, aged between 14 and 18, and four leaders divided into four patrols) as part of a UK Contingent to attend World Scout Jamborees. The units represent each of the UK’s counties and countries/regions, with unit numbers be allocated based on the numbers of young people in each area.
